Publication of compelling evidence for change in the severe liver disease pathway

We have just been published (again!!). A poster on our analysis of the severe liver disease pathway was presented at the British Association for the Study of the Liver (BASL) annual meeting on 21-24 September 2021. We showed the significant healthcare resource utilisation and high mortality associated with the development of ascites in cirrhotic patients at the South West Liver Unit, University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust. Work is ongoing to explore national healthcare usage associated with the development of ascites and model interventions which may mitigate these costs and improve patient outcomes.

If you want to discuss publishing compelling evidence for improving patient outcomes and supporting NHS change, get in touch.
